5 things to know as the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee begins (with over N7 million to be won)

The 2021 mPulse Spelling Bee Competition has begun. The competition, which is organized by MTN Nigeria, is open to students in primary and secondary schools between the ages of 9 and 15, provided they are on the mPulse Plan.

Here are five important things to know as the MTN Spelling Bee Competition begins:

mPulse Service: mPulse is a service from MTN which equips students between the ages of 9-15 with the resources they need to maximize their potential and be all they want to be. The mPulse has two features which are the mPulse tariff and the mPulse website. The mPulse tariff is a prepaid plan that allows you to enjoy cheap data bundles of N50 for 350MB and N150 for 1.2GB to access educational, skill development, and games content on the mPulse website.

Perks of Participating: Spelling Bee competitions are great extracurricular activities. They help promote literacy, broaden vocabulary, sharpen comprehension and recollection skills and provide participants with a positive goal to work towards. Beyond this, participants have a chance to win several amazing prizes including scholarship grants and cash prizes of over N7 million for students, teachers and schools, as well as ICT devices, laptops, smartphones and mPulse Goody bags.

The competition is virtual: The competition will take place on the mPulse website www.mtnonline.com/mpulse from September 13 to October 30, 2021, in three stages and a practice phase on the website began on September 1, 2021.

Eligibility Criteria: Only primary and secondary school students between the ages of 9 and 15, who have registered on the mPulse website and are on the mPulse tariff plan can participate in the spelling bee competition. Dial *344*1# to join mPulse.

How to register: To register, visit the mPulse Spelling website https://mpulse.mtnonline.com/home/spellingbee. Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap the “Play” button. You will be prompted to login to your student account. If you already have one, login and follow instructions. If you don’t have a student account, click on “Create one” below the prompt. Thereafter, follow the instructions.
