The appointment of Basorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as the new Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has continued to attract reactions from political stakeholders in Ogbomoso, with the Vice Chairmanship Candidate for Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. Ajao Michael fondly referred to as Ajao Seniyan, describing the development as significant for both the administration and the Ogbomoso political constituency.
Akinwole, who previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, assumes a strategic position in the Makinde administration at a time when political coordination and the implementation of government priorities remain central to the remaining months of the governor's tenure.
Reacting to the appointment, Ajao said the choice of Wolekanle reflects the importance of political experience, grassroots relationships and institutional understanding in managing the affairs of government.
He noted that beyond the excitement surrounding the emergence of an Ogbomoso political figure in such a strategic position, the appointment comes with considerable expectations from residents who want to see stronger representation, improved governance and greater attention to development across the state.
For Ajao, the development presents an opportunity for Akinwole to demonstrate how years of political engagement and public service can translate into effective coordination at the highest level of the state government.
He commended Governor Makinde for the appointment, expressing confidence in Akinwole's ability to work with other members of the administration in advancing the governor's development agenda.
Ajao also urged political stakeholders and community leaders in Ogbomoso to look beyond the celebration of the appointment and continue engaging government constructively on issues affecting their communities.
He maintained that the true value of political appointments should ultimately be measured by their contribution to governance and the positive difference they make in the lives of ordinary citizens.
While congratulating Wolekanle on his new responsibility, Ajao expressed optimism that his experience in grassroots politics and public administration would prove valuable in his new assignment.
He wished him a successful tenure, urging him to justify the confidence reposed in him by Governor Makinde and contribute to the administration's efforts to deliver on its commitments to the people of Oyo State.
