Oludare Olateju, FNIMN, popularly known as Ludare Sabada, has been appointed Assistant Secretary of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate of the Lagos State APC Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections.
The appointment places Olateju in a key creative arm of the campaign structure backing the governorship bid of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, while the Lagos APC also continues to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Olateju is expected to contribute his experience in brand management, advertising, marketing and entertainment to the Directorate, particularly in developing creative approaches to audience engagement, campaign communication and the use of music, entertainment and digital content.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate is headed by Toke Benson-Awoyinka, with veteran actor Jide Kosoko as Co-Director, actress Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director and Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, as Secretary. Olateju is listed as Assistant Secretary. The Directorate also includes prominent actors and musicians drawn from Nigeria’s creative industry.
Olateju brings to the assignment extensive experience in brand building and marketing. He began his career in advertising, working with agencies including the Troyka Group, Nucleus Advertising and LTC Advertising before moving to the client side.
He later spent about a decade with Guinness Nigeria, where he held senior brand management and innovation positions, before joining Consolidated Breweries, then part of the Heineken Group.
Within the Heineken Group, he served as Senior Brand Manager for Star, Gulder and Fayrouz before leaving corporate marketing to pursue his passion for Juju music.
Known in music circles as Ludare Sabada, Olateju is the son of veteran Juju musician Emperor Wale Olateju and has continued to maintain the family’s connection with the genre. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Juju Musicians.
His combination of corporate brand experience and involvement in Nigeria’s creative industry is expected to support the Directorate’s work as the Lagos APC campaign structure begins its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Lagos APC Campaign Council, chaired by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu with Hamzat as Deputy Chairman, is scheduled for formal inauguration on September 18, 2026, at the party secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
