Distinguished 26 Back Abiodun’s Consensus Move, Endorse Adeola For Ogun APC

A group known as the Distinguished 26 has commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for facilitating what they described as a “mature and unifying” consensus process that produced Senator Olalekan Solomon Adeola (Yayi) as a leading figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

In a press statement released on Friday, the group, comprising seasoned professionals, technocrats, and political stakeholders praised the governor’s leadership in fostering unity within the party. They noted that the consensus arrangement reflects a shared commitment to stability and progress in Ogun State.

The group also applauded other aspirants who stepped aside in support of the consensus candidate, describing their actions as a demonstration of sportsmanship and statesmanship.

“The maturity and leadership demonstrated in arriving at this consensus strengthens unity and advances our collective political goals,” the statement read.

Reaffirming their position, the Distinguished 26 pledged unwavering loyalty to Senator Adeola, while expressing strong support for the Ogun State chapter of the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

They emphasized their commitment to policies that would drive sustainable economic growth and inclusive development across all sectors of the state, adding that their focus remains on building a more prosperous future for Ogun residents.

The group further reiterated its allegiance to the party’s leadership and structure at all levels, promising to work for the success of all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.


“Our resolve remains firm in strengthening party unity, consolidating democratic gains, and ensuring victory across all elective positions,” the statement added.
