The weeklong reunion activities, which commenced on Monday with donations to orphanage homes and other philanthropic projects in Lagos, is with the theme: ‘Recalibrating For Greater Togetherness.’

A statement by Mr. Lanre Oyegbola, the President of the association said that apart from being a gathering of old school mates, friends and renewal of old acquaintances, the group had within the week been giving back to the society by donating various items to orphanage homes and others.

Oyegbola explained that the 2023 edition of the annual gathering would be with a difference as mates would gather at the Landmark Resort and Beach to unwind after rigorous weeklong activities.

He said: “This year, it has been a weeklong event that is culminating in a beach side event on Saturday, Jumat prayers on Friday and thanksgiving service on Sunday.

“This period has also been used to remember the less privileged in our society and reach out to our members’ immediate families who for one reason or the other are not within reach of their immediate families. Also, we use the season to remember the families of our deceased mates.

“Overall, we also want to use this season to recalibrate for greater exploits, enhanced friendship and greater opportunities in our togetherness.”

He recalled that the past editions of the reunion activities saw the set donating various gadgets, including multimedia equipment to the department of Mass Communication, MAPOLY and other organisations within the country.

The highlight of the event would be the release to the members of the association the result of the online election conducted within the week by the ad-hoc three-man electoral committee.

The election would usher in new sets of leadership for the association.

Oyegbola has been the President of the set since 2019 and had performed creditably well within the period, positioning the 994/1999 set as a pacesetter among other sets.
