This Is The Time For Nigerians To Wake Up And Take Back Their Country --Akinwunmi Braithwaite

The Governorship candidate of National Rescue Movement NRM, in Lagos State, Hon. Akinwunmi Braithwaite has called on Nigerians to wake up and take back their country even as the 2023 general elections draws near.

Akinwunmi Made the call while speaking as the guest speaker at the 3rd anniversary of the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria  ORAN, which took place at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.

Speaking on the importance of Good governance, he said Nigerians should vote with the genuineness of hearts to enjoy the real benefits.

According to him, Nigerians should rather vote with their brains than their conscience since their conscience can cause them to vote the wrong people into offices out of emotional weakness.

"A government has the major responsibility to deliver good governance to its people, but in a situation where there is nothing like this, the people need to wise up and vote wisely been the only power they have." He said 

He added that the media, especially the online reporters needs to help society with accurate information, charging members ORAN to engage more in investigative journalism as it is the major need of our society in a time like this.

Also speaking at the anniversary is the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local government Area of Lagos, Aarebinrin, Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji, who charge the Nigerian youths to ignore the statement 'Leaders Of Tomorrow', she insisted that now is the time to get involved and help make the desired change.

"Youths should not just be leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of today in order to have the society we desire and Nigeria we all clamor for".

She also encouraged the youths to shun instant gratifications and learn to add great values to the society.

"Make every day, a day to learn and unlearn, and as a journalist society expects more from us than doing the normal day-to-day activities, it is time to go beyond the surface and dig deep.
