Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe To Sustain The Long-Standing Bi-lateral Relationship Between Nigeria And The Hellenic Republic

 The Nigerian Ambassador to Greece, Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe has reassured the Nigerians and international communities of the readiness of Nigerian embassy in Athens to seek development and sustain the long-standing bi-lateral relationship between Nigeria and  The Hellenic Republic.

According to the embassy LinkedIn page, “We pursue opportunities to enhance cooperation in the economic, corporate, cultural and political spheres. In addition to our diplomatic tasks, we provide Nigerian citizens with consular assistance as well as support foreigners wishing to visit Nigeria for business or for pleasure”.

Upon her resumption and presentation of Letters of Credence by Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe to President Sakellaropoulou on 15th June 2021, the Nigerian Embassy in Athens has hosted Executives and elders of the Nigeria Community in Greece (NCIG), and Executives of Nigeria in Diaspora Organization (NIDO), where the ambassador Akinkugbe said, “Without unity we will achieve nothing. We must try to move away from our ethic sensitivities and embrace our uniqueness and oneness to be able to move forward as a strong, vibrant and progressive community.”

The former Independent Non-Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe also stated on her LinkedIn page, “We are very proud of our Chancery, it is a well-appointed elegant edifice situated in Filothei, one of Athens’ finest suburbs and most befitting of our great country.

The ambassador also promises to showcase Nigerian artistes in Athens in due course, she stated this when Adetayo Adedeji met with Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe at the Chancery

The Ambassador also encourage Nigerian and friends of Nigeria to join and follow all social media handles to keep abreast of important consular information, the mission’s work and activities
