Olamide, May D dazzle as Cliqfest storms Ekiti State University-100-level student wins brand new car

Fast-growing and innovative telecommunications company, Etisalat, once again lived up to its reputation as a youth-friendly brand in the country, as it stormed Ekiti State University (EKSU) Ado- Ekiti with its youth empowerment and entertainment programme, Cliqfest, which featured several activities aimed at all round development of students in tertiary institutions.
Same as other tertiary institutions that have experienced the Cliqfest storm since its debut in 2011, the two-day event included a seminar by celebrated motivational speaker, Niyi Adesanya, a novelty match, raffle draws, dance competition by EKSU students and performances by winner of the second season of Etisalat-sponsored Nigerian Idol, Mercy Chinwo, and two top Nigerian music artistes, Olamide and May D.
Speaking at the seminar under the theme: “New thinking, new possibilities”, Adesanya enlightened the students on the most valuable resource an individual can bring to their life through thinking.
According to him, “the most valuable resource you can bring to your life is your creativity, which can only be achieved through thinking.
Creativity is gold, it increases your value, positions you for a better future, lifts you above average and gives you control over your life and time.”
Using the personal SWOT (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis, he explained that it is very important that each student identifies and understands his or her Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) which will equip them in the journey of self-discovery and self-improvement. Also speaking at the event, Manager, Youth Segment, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Idiare Atimomo, expressed his delight at the turnout of students.
“Cliqfest represents a mix of bonding, education and festivity riding on our innovative youth package called easycliq. Our desire with this is to motivate all-round development in our students, because we want our youths to be balanced, connected and be in touch with the ever-changing career turns, social trends and lifestyles,” he said.
“My advice for the students, however, is to find what they are most passionate about, think it through and develop their strengths in those areas in order to stand out from their peers in a competitive market,” he added.
The highpoint of the events was when a lucky 100-level student from the department of Accountancy, Awolope Roland, won the star prize of a brand new Kia Picanto Car in a raffle draw, courtesy of Etisalat’s Easycliq.
Several other students also won laptops, Blackberry phones, Etisalat Gaga Smartphones, dual sim phones, recharge cards, and other branded items.
