Adefemi Adeoya, A True Ekiti-man Departs

The family of Adefemi Adeoya of Egun Quarters, Ifaki Ekiti, Ekiti State, with full submission to the will of God, announce the passing to glory of our patriarch, Mr Adefemi Adeoya. He passed on at the ripe age of 89 after a brief illness.

Born in 1934, the late Adefemi was a true Ekiti man who used his personal example to teach us the value of minding one's business and the virtues of education and probity.

He graduated with honours in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in 1970. He thereafter had a rich career spanning many years in Human Resources management. He worked notably for Ibru Organisation, rising to senior management, across many cities including Lagos, Sapele, Aba and Ughelli.

On Christmas day of 1964, he got married to the love of his life, Olufunke Adeoya (née Fayemi), a Wesley Guild, Ilesa-trained midwife. She passed on in 2015 at 77. Together they had seven offsprings.

He eventually retired to his native community of Ifaki Ekiti from where he answered the final call on Tuesday, 31 January 2023.

He will be remembered for his life of contentment and equanimity.

He is survived by several children and grandchildren including Adenike Abiona, Ayodeji Adeoya, Akin Adeoya, Dupe Daniel, Bola Agunbiade and Femi Adeoya.
